You will have an impact on:
Lead the People Team: Mentor and develop the People & Culture team, ensuring role clarity, high performance, and a collaborative, empowered team dynamic.
Drive Recruiting & Employer Branding: Own end-to-end hiring for key roles, shape a compelling employer brand, and build scalable, inclusive recruiting processes.
Optimize People Operations: Design and continuously improve key HR processes including onboarding, performance reviews, feedback cycles, promotions, and compensation.
Ensure People Admin & Compliance: Manage contracts, payroll coordination, and visa processes; ensure compliance with labor laws in Germany and Austria.
Foster Culture & Engagement: Lead initiatives that build engagement, wellbeing, and an inclusive, values-driven culture across in-office and remote teams.
Enable Leadership & Growth: Coach team leads and managers, implement leadership development programs, and define role frameworks and career paths.
Shape HR Strategy: Translate business goals into a People roadmap; partner with Finance and department leads on headcount planning and org design.
Be a Trusted Partner: Serve as a key advisor to leadership and a go-to resource for employees, championing a high-touch, people-first experience.
Leverage Data & Systems: Own HR tools and systems; build dashboards and surface insights that support better people decisions.
Job requirements
What you will add to our Crew:
7+ years of experience in HR or People roles, including at least 2 years in a strategic leadership position
Proven track record of scaling People & Culture practices in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills — able to align People strategies with organizational goals
End-to-end experience in recruiting, employer branding, and building inclusive hiring processes
Hands-on knowledge of modern HR tools and systems (e.g. HRIS, ATS, performance tools)
Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
High degree of integrity, empathy, and discretion in handling sensitive situations
In-depth knowledge of German and Austrian labor laws and compliance requirements
Berlin-based and available for in-person collaboration when needed
Native German speaker with fluent English(written and spoken)
